Role of Women in Countering Violent Extremism and Promoting developments of the community in Rabai District.

On 10th February 2018, we managed to have a forum which was part of our program known as women of worth. The forum included young mothers from all over Rabai District and was facilitated by HAKI Africa.

During the forum we had discussions which included challenges that they face in their locality. The challenges were as follows, early marriages, lack of role models, lack of information and knowledge of tenders and funds provided by the government and high rate of unemployment.

The women concluded that there is need for exposure which will be achieved by, inter county exchange programs, entrepreneurship and empowerment trainings for the women and youth from marginalized area of Rabai.

About Women of Worth

This program focuses on effective livelihood of a woman and promoting gender equality. In this program our key objective is to empower and safeguard women and daughters from the traditional hunger and existing stereotyping hence solidifying our socio-political and economic pillars which gears towards a sustainable livelihood. This in turn enables equal chances and opportunities to both women and men integrated from the households to the community.
